Wellborn Cabinet was proud to be the premier cabinetry sponsor of the 2020 Southern Living Idea House in Asheville, North Carolina. Wellborn Cabinet, working closely alongside builder Buchanan Construction, designer Lauren Leiss, and architect Beau Clowney, helped a classic mountain house with a quaint cottage feel come to life. Our cabinetry graces eight rooms of the 3.650 sf home nestled in the Ramble Biltmore Forest of North Carolina.
Builder Rick Buchanan explained why he chose Wellborn Cabinet, “It was an easy choice. We have a lot of loyalty with Southern Living and with Wellborn Cabinet being a part of the Southern Living [Custom Builder] program it made it an easy choice…Working with Wellborn was a fantastic process.”
Nearly 100 of our dealers and business partners recently went on our VIP tour to see every intricate detail of the home from the cabinet design to each finish choice. Amy Hart with Dovetail Design and Cabinetry was able to see the home firsthand and had wonderful things to say about the tri-color kitchen. “They work really well together. The Gauntlet, the Sandstone Slate, and the Oyster White Java finishes were really nice.” She added, “I have always said that Wellborn is a designer’s dream. I think the product line is so diverse and very flexible I think you are doing a great job of keeping up with trends. You do a great job with the product and with the look. It presents really well. People love it.”
“To me, the kitchen cabinets in hickory painted with the inset doors were the best…we choose Wellborn Cabinet because of their commitment. Commitment to quality and longevity. And [they are] just good people. They are easy to work with and they always make it right. That is why we choose Wellborn. “ Scott Noble, Noble Brothers Cabinets.
A combination of woods and finishes brought the entire butler’s pantry and kitchen together in one beautifully functional area. John Wellborn, Customer Relations and second-generation Wellborn family member had this to say about the cabinetry, “The butler pantry is exquisitely designed to accent the natural sunlight on the lighter shades of Sandstone Slate and Oyster with the Java glaze. It really pops when the light hits it. The kitchen was situated on the other side of the windows and featured the darker Gauntlet stain that really accentuated the detail in the cabinet doors. The color selection was clearly well thought-out. We are so proud to be a national sponsor of this beautiful home in the gorgeous Ramble Biltmore Forest of Asheville, North Carolina!.”
Tours for the 2020 Southern Living Idea Home are open to the public Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets may be purchased by visiting Buchanan Construction’s website. A portion of the Idea House ticket proceeds benefit the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity so with a visit to the home, you will be helping build a home for a family in need.
